This quintessential Australian Federation pub owned by a classic publican, Dane Baird. He and Chef Geoff knock up the most amazing menus for an off piste pub that’s located in weeny Ulmarra. Geoff likes gastro pub fare but is just as happy to whip up a Lamp Rump Sous Vide or Scallops with Thai Green Apple salad, with Lime and Chilli condiments. Travellarks discovered this winning pub, on a sunny afternoon, stopping off following a great thirst – what a find!

It’s accessible if you’re coming from Yamba, by the Clarence river Ferry, almost to the front bar. A 10 minute ride and there are other stops to get on and off too. Instead, you’ll be catapulted into its Award Winning Beer Garden instead, under the shade of magnificent trees and a sublime view of country life.
