Driving north from Sydney it’ll take about 3 -3.5 hours, depending on stops. For those that have done this for years, it becomes a pilgrimage to do a pitstop at Heatherbrae Pies just north of Newcastle (on your way home, we’d recommend a family cottage pie)! Heading from the north, say Brisbane, it’s about 7 to 7.5 hours, and add in pitstops – lots along the way – Yamba, Coff’s Harbour, Port Macquarie, Laurieton.
