General Directions for a Road trip from Launceston to Weymouth
From Launceston, head north on the Bass Highway (A1) toward George Town. After approximately 30 km, take the exit toward Narawntapu National Park, then continue along local coastal roads toward Low Head. From Low Head, follow Low Head Road / George Town Road for around 35 km to reach Bridestowe Lavender Estate, enjoying views of farmland, river valleys, and small villages along the way. Finally, continue northeast via local roads for about 25 km to arrive at Weymouth, your Northern Tasmania coastal base.
Launceston to Narawntapu National Park Tasmania: Wildlife and Scenic Coastal Views

Kick off your road trip at Narawntapu National Park, known as the “Serengeti of Tasmania.” It’s advised to approach the Park from C740 off B71. Yorktown Road or C741 is NOT a suitable road for access. The Visitor Centre is open between 9:30 am and 3:30 pm during winter, and 9:00 am and 4:00 pm in summer. Enjoy camping, bush walking, fishing, boating and horse riding activities or spot kangaroos grazing, wombats waddling along tracks, and colourful birdlife. Wildlife Watching is especially good at dawn and dusk at Narawntapu.
Take a scenic walk along Bakers Beach or hike up Archers Knob for sweeping views.

Low Head Tasmania: Little Penguins and Coastal Wildlife on Roadtrip from Launceston to Weymouth
