Step into the creative world of Green Glass Studio and the historic Old Brick Pub 2594 in Young, NSW, where self-taught jeweller and artisan Suez Hardy transforms recycled materials into beautiful spaces and meaningful pieces that honour history. She breathes new life into old treasures.
A lover of all things worn, weathered, and rustic, Suez is living proof that with heart, imagination, and a patient hand, the past can be reimagined into something truly special. Here, every piece, every corner, and every story quietly celebrates creativity, connection, and the timeless beauty of second chances.

A Heartfelt Renovation and a She Shed
Imagine a place where time slows, where hands shape not just metal, but stories. Where the warmth of community fills the air. Where creativity hums quietly in every corner. This is Green Glass Studio in Young, NSW — a space born from Suez Hardy’s passion for breathing new life into forgotten treasures. It’s more than a jewellery studio. It’s a sanctuary under a magnificent gum tree, where old materials are lovingly transformed.
Suez invites you to explore her haven, where every piece of jewellery is crafted entirely by hand. “I’ve always been drawn to the old, the worn, and the discarded,” she says. Her work is a labour of love — raw materials shaped into something truly unique, with patience, heart, and a deep sense of purpose. Suez pours her heart into every creation and her appreciation for nature, inspires her jewellery designs,
Yet it’s not just the craft that stays with you. It’s the warmth of her welcome. The feeling that you’re not just observing creativity, you’re part of it.
The studio — her She Shed — is a space for connection as much as creation. Here, even complete beginners are invited to slow down, pick up hand tools, and discover the quiet satisfaction of making something real. The air carries the scent of copper and the soft sound of gentle tapping. Time seems to soften around you.
“There’s a deep satisfaction in doing everything by hand,” Suez reflects. “Each piece holds a part of my heart, a piece of the earth, and a story that needs to be told.”
Copper, her favourite material, is cherished for how it changes over time. It tarnishes, deepens, grows more beautiful. A quiet reminder that age and imperfection carry their own kind of grace.
When you purchase jewellery from Suez, it arrives in something truly special. “I make these little envelopes to encase your treasures, crafted from pages of Australian Magazine,” she says. “It’s fiddly, beautiful, and 100% recycled.” This thoughtful touch reflects her philosophy of sustainability and creativity. Wrapped in her unique style, each piece feels like a gift—perfectly packaged for any occasion, with the option to add a string and hang it on your tree at Christmas.
You might find Suez offering upcycled jewellery creations at the Jugiong Autumn Market, or from her super cute campervan which is dressed in a shade of sea foam, and affectionately called “Lottie.”
Wherever you meet her, you’ll find a little spark of magic — and a story worth holding onto.

The Old Brick Pub 2594: A Restored Treasure in the Hilltops Food and Wine Region
The Old Brick Pub 2594, Suez other gem, is not merely a place to stay—it’s a living testament to history and transformation. She saw its potential immediately—she had always dreamed of owning a pub with a big old shed out the back for her jewellery studio. A space where history and creativity could meet. And so the journey began—a true labour of love.
This treasure was brought to life by Suez and her family, with her son Sam playing a key role in the meticulous restoration. Suez decided with Sam of Hardy & Co Construction, during Covid, that they would begin restoration, working for weeks removing the overgrown and vandalised debris. Chimneys were kicked in and walls pulled down to reveal the solid structure underneath. What began as a dream for Suez slowly evolved into a story of family hands working side by side, with their love and dedication breathing new life into every brick and beam.
The renovations unearthed fascinating stories where echoes of diggers’ conversations and voices of mining stories were told. Beneath the layers of time, 1830s convict bricks, once caked in mud, whispered their secrets. Salt-block-lined walls and old wallpaper carried echoes of the past. An 1898 penny was uncovered, hidden in the architraves—an intimate reminder of the pub’s rich history.
Today, The Old Brick Pub 2594 stands proudly in the historic Gold Rush town of Young. Surrounded by gardens, with alpacas and horses grazing peacefully, it offers an invitation to slow down in the beauty of the past and present. Suez’s dream is now a reality, the result of a tireless effort to preserve the past while embracing the future.
“There is so much about our Young community that we love,” says Suez. “A town that brings excitement and joy to the hearts of all.”
Guests are invited to unwind in the comfort of the beautifully renovated space. Two king bedrooms for adults only, a spacious bathroom, a full kitchen, and a BBQ area make it the perfect retreat for couples or solo travellers seeking peace and serenity. The 5-acre property offers a calm escape from the everyday, where modern comforts meet timeless beauty.
Suez’s thoughtful touches ensure every stay is unforgettable. Guests are treated to a selection of complimentary gourmet local goodies such as Art of Espresso coffee locally roasted and blended, Ballinaclash Quince or Cherry jam, delectable chocolate coated cherries from Poppa’s Fudge and Jam Factory, olive oil from Oakridge Grove and more. For an extra touch, a pre-ordered cheese box from Graze Away is the perfect companion for a relaxed evening.
Kristie, a recent guest, shared:
“We arrived at the Old Brick Pub 2594 with the fireplace already lit and the heater on. We were given gifts of local salted butter, fresh sourdough, farm-laid eggs, freshly cut parsley, local honey, freshly ground coffee, local cherry jam, and a bottle of local wine, which we ended up buying more of from the winery over the weekend! There were also biscuits to enjoy with a variety of tea and even a jar of marshmallows for the fire! Thank you, Suez, for all the extra touches. We loved it!”
And as the sun sets behind the hills of Young, there is a sense of contentment, of days well-spent in a place where the past, the present, and the future converge in perfect harmony.

Custom Creations: Crafting Personal Stories into Jewellery
For Suez, custom jewellery isn’t just a service—it’s a meaningful connection with her clients. It’s about creating something that carries the essence of their past, with a personal touch that’s crafted for the future.
“There’s something incredibly special about taking a piece of someone’s past and turning it into something new,” she says.
Whether it’s a cherished heirloom or a vintage find, Suez carefully reimagines each material. The result? A piece of jewellery that’s not only beautiful but deeply personal.
“Every custom piece is like a little part of that person’s story,” she says. “I love the challenge of taking something old and giving it a fresh perspective.”

More Than Jewellery: A Celebration of Nature, Family, and Craft
While jewellery is her passion, it’s nature and family that truly inspire Suez’s work. “My studio is like my sanctuary, and it’s under the shade of a big gum tree that I find my peace.”
With four children and nine grandchildren, family provides the love and support that fuel her creativity. Her journey is a testament to craftsmanship, sustainability, and giving old things a new lease on life. The best bit? Everything is local, handcrafted, with an eco-friendly focus.
“There’s a deep connection between what I make and where I come from,” she says. “My jewellery is a part of the earth, a part of me, and a part of the people I meet along the way.”

In every piece Suez creates, in every beam of The Old Brick Pub 2594, and in every corner of Green Glass Studio, you’ll find the same quiet magic — a love of craft, a respect for history, and a deep connection to nature and community. Here, stories aren’t just told — they’re shaped, polished, and brought back to life. Carried home, worn close to the heart, and remembered long after the journey ends. Once you step inside this place, a part of you may never quite want to leave.
The Old Brick Pub 2594 honours the Traditional Custodians of the land — the Wiradjuri People — recognising their enduring connection to land, water, and community, and paying respect to Elders past, present, and emerging.
