Art, Wine, and Hands-on Creativity in the Hunter Valley
No skills needed, just a sense of fun. Think you’re not “arty”? Even better. That’s exactly why you should Make and Stay at Winmark Winery. It’s where creativity meets Chardonnay, and no one’s judging your brush strokes or your ceramic sculpture, or even your second (ok, third) glass.
The team at Winmark runs the estate with warmth, pizzazz and genuine passion. This isn’t just another vineyard in the glorious top wine region of the Hunter Valley – it’s a full-blown, art-drenched escape, perfect for 1, 2 or up to 24 guests. Above all, it’s an experience.
Make and Stay at Winmark as a full-blown, art-drenched escape.
Who’s it for? Wine lovers, gourmet travellers, curious creatives and anyone overdue for a few days of fun—with good food, fine company, and perfectly imperfect pottery.

Wile you’re there, wander the Sculpture Walk, explore the impressive Art Gallery featuring works from Agnes Bruck, Charles Hebert, and 30 other artists. And whether you’re bonding with a group, soul-searching solo, or letting loose with the girls (or boys), this is wine-fuelled creativity at its best.
Oh, and Winmark just happens to be the 2023 Hunter Valley Cellar Door of the Year. So even if your art’s a flop, your wine tasting won’t be!
Things to Do at Winmark: Art, Ceramics, and High Tea
Winmark is all about embracing creativity with a glass in hand. Here are just some of the events popping up on the calendar for a Make and Stay. You certainly don’t have to stay—but once you see the views, taste the wine, and feel the atmosphere, you just might wish you did.

Ceramic Bird Workshop with Lisa Hölzl
Sunday 1st June from 9;30am – 2.30pm
Under the guidance of Sydney artist and educator, Lisa Hölzl, learn ceramic bird-making and glazing techniques. When not teaching, Lisa works out of an old bakery called, The Bakehouse Studio, Marrickville. It’s more than just a community ceramics studio – it’s a beautiful haven for pottery enthusiasts and beginners too.
Originally studying painting at Sydney College of the Arts, Lisa was seduced by the 3D canvas of hand-painted, ceramic sculpture fifteen years ago. Her practice explores botanically and biologically – inspired totemic forms, installations and small works. She draws great inspiration from Australian botany, her Austrian heritage and her passion for the rich history of painting. She also loves making site-specific work to suit particular contexts including private homes, and gardens.
You’ll feel super relaxed in her class as she brings a warm. welcoming atmosphere and you’ll create at least three handmade feathered friends to adorn your garden or home. Refreshments, lunch are and ALL materials also included. See details at winmarkwines.com.au

High Tea and Conversation with Lisa Hölzl
Monday 2nd June from 1;00pm – 4:00pm
Hear about her artistic journey and sources of inspiration while enjoying a delightful high tea. It’s a celebration of art, community, and cake (obviously). See details at winmarkwines.com.au
Please join Lisa & Karin in the Art Gallery from 1pm for an afternoon of high tea and creative discussion. Hear about her artistic journey and sources of Inspiration. From 1.30pm High Tea will be served accompanied by a glass of award winning Winmark Chardonnay or glass of Sparkling Tea, served with sweet and savoury yummy High Tea morsels and tea or coffee.
During the High Tea there will be a Q&A Session with Karin Adcock (Winmark’s owner and vigneron) and Lisa Hölzl, which is sure to create some great conversations.
