Dryridge Estate – The Homestead, Megalong Valley has all the hallmarks of a dreamy country getaway in a UNESCO World Heritage region of the Blue Mountains.
DRYRIDGE ESTATE – THE HOMESTEAD
Atop a high ridge in the heart of Megalong Valley, just a scenic drive from Sydney, Dryridge Estate’s The Homestead invites you to slow down and reconnect. Whether with friends, family, or your own thoughts, this peaceful escape is all about unwinding. It’s only two hours from Sydney and just 20 minutes from charming Blackheath.
Pure magic for wine lovers! Enjoy sweeping vineyard views framed by the soaring sandstone cliffs of the Blue Mountains. As the sun sets, the valley glows with rich oranges and soft blush pinks – nature’s own evening spectacle. This hidden gem offers cosy winter nights and golden summer evenings filled with beauty, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
Megalong Valley Winery – it’s WOW!
Magical for wine lovers, you’ll be surrounded with wraparound views above a sweeping vineyard that’s set against the dramatic backdrop of a Blue Mountains sandstone escarpment. WOW! This exclusive estate is a front-row seat to one of Australia’s most breath-taking sunset shows. As golden hour arrives, the ridge ignites with striking hues of orange and soft pinks. This sets the mood for long, laughter-filled evenings. Whether its winter cold, or sunny summer, it’s a beautiful spot awash with nature’s hues.
Your Dryridge Getaway Experience
Designed with group stays in mind, the Homestead offers multiple entertaining areas both inside and out – meaning you can settle in and soak up the serene surroundings without ever needing to leave the property. Gather around the spacious living room, where an open fireplace invites slow conversations and late-night storytelling. Sink into the designer lounge or linger over shared meals at the grand country-style dining table – the heart of the home for feasts and gatherings. Three bedrooms with a Library and a fold out bed for children, 8 guests can be accommodated.
For the food lovers, the gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with a premium stainless steel gas cooktop and everything you need to craft memorable meals. The kitchen spills out onto a generous balcony that floats above the vines – a perfect spot for afternoon cheese boards, sunset drinks, or a starlit dinner under the clear country sky.
Megalong Valley winery beginnings
Bob and Barbara Tyrrell established Dryridge Estate in 2000. Following Bob’s fatal heart attack in 2013, new ownership was sought. Fortunately, Simon & Emma’s background and passion for farming, hospitality and events was the perfect pairing, breathing even more life into Dryridge Estate. With a cellar door and expansive facilities, the estate ticks the boxes for wine tastings, weddings, celebrations and events. At minimum you must book a vertical wine tasting held on Saturdays and Sundays to really appreciate the scope and variety of styles – and don’t forget the abundant share platters alongside!
Looking for Blue Mountains Wedding Venues? And with a Vineyard?
Dryridge Estate weddings are often described as “dreamy.” The venue offers full event planning for up to 100 guests and accommodation for 12 across two nearby properties. The newlyweds can enjoy exclusive use of Sunrise Lodge while friends and family stay just minutes away at The Homestead. You’ll be well-supported by a dedicated onsite team managing every detail with care. Once, staff even rescued a stranded marriage celebrant to ensure the ceremony went ahead! Whatever happens, the team is ready to make the day perfect.
With a vineyard at your feet and the mountains as your backdrop, Dryridge Estate offers rustic charm and relaxed elegance. Whether you’re celebrating a wedding, enjoying a weekend escape, or just craving time with loved ones, Sunrise Lodge is your peaceful country haven. It feels a world away – but it’s only a short drive from Sydney.
In addition, for adventurous guests, the renowned 6 Foot Track is nearby, so don’t forget your binoculars for the sweeping views, or your paints and easel to capture the hues and beauty around you.
The Homestead is near other scenic attractions and things to do around Megalong Valley in this exquisite part of the UNESCO heritage listed Blue Mountains region. (coming soon)
