Things to do Around Coolamon NSW: Outdoor Adventures, Local Flavours and Sightseeing

This town might be small but it’s packed with charm and character and plenty of things to do around Coolamon, NSW. With a population of around 4,000, this little gem in the Riverina has a close friendly community and an easy-going atmosphere, that makes you want to kick back and take your time. Wander down Cowabbie Street, and see lovely old-school architecture of Victorian buildings. It’s like stepping into a time capsule – but with great coffee and a growing number of modern shops with creative flair.

For food lovers, start your adventure at the very popular Coolamon Cheese Co-op, home to beautifully handmade local cheeses. Stock up for a picnic or have a quiet nibble (we know you want to) while taking in the town. If you’re in the mood for a more classic experience, The Old Convent makes delicious Devonshire Tea with fresh home made scones, cream and jam. If you want a large group booking, phone ahead – 0412 177 230

There’s some great walks and numerous forest trails nearby, where you might spot a few feathered friends along the way. Coolamon scenic drives are spectacular especially when the yellow canola is in full bloom. Make sure you see surrounding countryside and nearby villages of Ganmain, Ardlethan, Marrar, Matong and Beckom along the Riverina Canola Trail.

Definitely worth the 5 hour drive from Sydney and the quick 28 min jaunt from Wagga Wagga. You might even leave with a full stomach, a new favourite cheese, and a mobile or camera full of stunning countryside views!
